HISTORY IN THE STREET - I drove through downtown Sudbury today and spied these potholes at the intersection of Elm and Lisgar Streets. They exposed a section of tracks from the former Sudbury Copper Cliff Street Railway. Sudbury's last street cars ran in either 1950 or 1951, and this section of Lisgar Street has obviously avoided any major road reconstruction for 75 plus years.

Looking South from Elm Street. You can see the outline of the railbed in the asphalt extending down Lisgar St.Looking Northeast from Lisgar Street. The pothole closest either has a part of a switch, frog or a guide rail.
