🚨 Sudbury Shoutout: Our Search and Rescue Teams Are Training Today!

“Did you know our local emergency teams are out today running a full Search and Rescue simulation? 👇 Here’s what’s happening — and why it matters.”

📍 Nelson Lake Road area
📅 June 3, 2025

Today, Sudbury’s emergency services are conducting a full-scale search and rescue operation near Nelson Lake Road — and it’s all part of an annual training exercise to ensure our teams are ready when real emergencies happen.

This coordinated effort includes GSPS, North Shore Search and Rescue, and SUDSAR, working together to simulate a missing person scenario in remote bushland using both ground crews and aerial support.

And here’s what’s especially impressive — they’re using a high-tech tool called ARTEMIS, which can locate and communicate with a person’s phone even when there’s no cell service! 👏

🛟 Why It Matters:

✔️ Training like this keeps our community safer
✔️ It helps prepare teams to act fast when every second counts
✔️ It shows how technology and teamwork can save lives
