Feilding Park is between Sudbury and Lively, just off the Trans Canada Highway. Access to parking and the trails is free. The trails vary in distance from 0.3km to 3.7km.

In the winter, the Kelly Lake Trail and Hiller Trail are not maintained- so bring snow shoes!

Besides the price, one of the greatest features of Fielding Park is the bird watching. If you’re an experienced bird watcher or a beginner, you may see species such as the cedar waxling, common merganser, hooded merganser, blue jays, sandpipers, great blue herons and of course, chickadees. Just slightly off the path is Chickadee Way.

Bring some bird seed and a camera. Sit very still, and 9/10 times, hundreds of chickadees will perch in a tree and take turns eating out of your hand.

Drop a comment with photos of your winter exploration in 2025!
