Sudbury Canoe Club is proud to celebrate one of our own.
Lauren Anderson, Member at Large and Canoe Chair for the Sudbury Canoe Club, is about to take on the wildest, most unforgiving paddle race in the world — the Yukon 1000. Alongside her brother-in-law Sean Lougheed, they form Team Outlaws, a duo built on trust, endurance, and Northern grit.
This isn’t a regular race. This is 1,600 kilometers of raw wilderness. 10 straight days. No checkpoints. No outside contact. Just strength, strategy, and survival between Whitehorse, Yukon and Alaska’s Dalton Highway Bridge.

We’re inviting the entire community to experience the intensity of this journey through the Push Past Impossible documentary — a stunning feature that dives into the true heart of the Yukon 1000.
But this is more than a movie night. It’s a community send-off, a fundraiser, and a front-row seat to courage in motion.

Designed by H2O Canoe Company right here in Ontario, this elite expedition canoe weighs in under 42 lbs but is built to carry gear for 10 days across rapids, ice-cold river stretches, and the unknown.
It’s the same vessel Lauren and Sean have trained in all season right here at the Sudbury Canoe Club.
