Today, I attended a performance at Finlandia by the Sudbury Rising Stars acting troupe. With a repertoire of 24 skits, they visit long-term care homes, church groups, local colleges, and Laurentian University.
Through a comedic yet educational approach, they tackle important topics like medication management, fall prevention, elder abuse, and mobility—just to name a few. These incredible women perform approximately twice per month at various venues. Their ages range from early 60s to an inspiring member who recently turned 96!
I was truly impressed by their spirit and the meaningful messages they deliver. They are actively seeking more acting volunteers, so if you're interested, contact the Parkside Centre at 705-673-6227.
