From BSL Glory to Grassroots Greatness: Sudbury’s Own Georges Serresse is Raising the Next Generation of Leaders
This spring, the Sudbury Five made franchise history — capturing the Basketball Super League (BSL) championship with a thrilling 103–91 victory over Windsor. The trophy came home, the fans went wild, and for the first time ever, Sudbury stood at the top of pro basketball.
But while the spotlight shone bright on the court… the legacy is being built off it.
One of our city’s most respected names in basketball, Georges Serresse, is now pouring that same passion into the future — through the Sudbury Basketball Facility (SBF) and his signature youth development camps.
🔥 From Pro Player to Mentor
A former LU Voyageurs star and one of the original Sudbury Five players, Georges has always led by example — not just in performance, but in purpose. Now, he’s running one of the most impactful grassroots programs in Northern Ontario.
With a deep belief in the power of mentorship, hard work, and community, Georges has created a space where kids aged 5 to 13 can fall in love with the game, build confidence, and grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
“We’re not just developing athletes. We’re raising strong, confident kids who believe in themselves — on and off the court.” – Georges Serresse
