Spotted at Cambrian College... and YES, absolutely! The iso principle is where you meet someone where they are at and then gradually, slowly move them to a better place (E.g., with anxiety and depression). One of the things I love about music is that it is expressive without words! Through improvisation as music therapists, we may help the client figure out what their feelings might sound like on an instrument such as the piano or drum. After meeting them where they are in the music (thereby providing validation and support), we can then gradually change the music elements to create a sound that is more positive, upbeat, hopeful and healing!
